About Shule Central
We're building the complete digital backbone for African schools — one institution at a time.
Where we started
Shule Central grew out of a simple observation: teachers in Ugandan schools were still using paper registers, manual mark sheets, and WhatsApp to run their classrooms — not because they preferred it, but because the available software was built for a different context entirely.
The platforms that existed were either too expensive, required unreliable internet, were designed for Western curricula, or produced outputs that didn't match the government's reporting format. So teachers continued filling AMIS report cards by hand, copying marks from notebooks into spreadsheets one row at a time.
We started by solving that exact problem — and kept going. Today, Shule Central is a full education ecosystem covering classroom management, student learning, curriculum development, and government reporting.
Our mission
"To give every African school — regardless of size or budget — access to the tools that make quality education management possible."
What we stand for
Purpose-built for Africa
We didn't adapt a Western school management tool for African schools. We built Shule Central from the ground up — understanding local curricula, government reporting requirements, connectivity realities, and the way schools here actually operate.
Simple by design
Education technology often over-engineers the problem. We believe software for schools should be learnable in an afternoon, not a training week. Every feature we add must earn its place by making a teacher's or student's day genuinely easier.
The whole ecosystem
A school isn't just teachers and students. It's families, school owners, curriculum developers, and government bodies — all with different needs but deeply interconnected. Shule Central is the only platform that serves all of them in one place.
Affordable is non-negotiable
Most Ugandan and East African schools operate on tight budgets. The core platform is free — permanently. Advanced features use a token system so schools pay only for what they use, when they use it.
The platform
Shule Central is not one product — it's an ecosystem of six integrated tools, each designed for a specific role in the school community. They share data seamlessly, so a mark entered in TeachTab appears in AmisFiller without re-entry, and a curriculum defined in the Curriculum tool flows into TeachTab's subject catalog automatically.
Where we are
Shule Central is headquartered in Kampala, Uganda. We are a small team with direct experience in Ugandan and East African schools. Our infrastructure is hosted within Africa, keeping school data close to home and under appropriate jurisdiction.
